As the capital of the Tuscany region, Firenze, Italy is renowned as the
birthplace of the Renaissance, admired for its wealth of cultural
history. The impact of the region no doubt has played a major role in
the works of art commandeered by native Alessandro Vene. As an artist,
set designer, children’s book illustrator—and pizza chef, to boot—he
specializes in pencil, pen and digital painting.
Now based in Hawaii, Vene is further influenced by the relaxed
culture of sunny days and warm breezes—which are reflected in the
relaxed, colloquial style of his drawings. As a fulltime freelance
illustrator, he has created countless imagery for children’s books,
advertising, iPhone and new media apps, and television commercials. In
addition, Vene has studied as and practices set design.
His expertise also includes work as a production designer and
illustrator for the renowned Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Mark
TV & Communications, Bottega Cinema and Vallina Studios.
Among reviews, one client wrote of his talent: “There are artists and
there are ‘true artists.’ Ale is amazing. Our expectations were
exceeded in every sense.”
